With the government wanting more and more manual labourer type skills, the DFEE have just announced a brand new course in for us in colleges to deliver from next year.
Aimed at the 500,000 layabout teenagers or NEETs, NVQ Serfdom will enable any youngster be gain manual skills up to level 3 in Serfdom-ing in most FE colleges from September 2006. The course includes nothing on health and safety awareness in spite of using dangerous farm machinary, how to plant potatoes in straight rows and good manners when addressing lords and masters.
As seen in the picture above clothing is provided and Key Skills are obligatory. Number skills such as counting (beans and potatoes) and solving real problems like, how to shovel horse manure all day will all come in handy for our younsters. In line with the governments new agenda on looking after the nations health, culinary skills will be included including 1001 things to do with a turnip and how to make a meaty casserole from fresh road-kill, will be taught by Jamie Oliver, sponsored by Sainsbury's.
