With the government wanting more and more manual labourer type skills, the DFEE have just announced a brand new course in for us in colleges to deliver from next year.
Aimed at the 500,000 layabout teenagers or NEETs, NVQ Serfdom will enable any youngster be gain manual skills up to level 3 in Serfdom-ing in most FE colleges from September 2006. The course includes nothing on health and safety awareness in spite of using dangerous farm machinary, how to plant potatoes in straight rows and good manners when addressing lords and masters.

As seen in the picture above clothing is provided and Key Skills are obligatory. Number skills such as counting (beans and potatoes) and solving real problems like, how to shovel horse manure all day will all come in handy for our younsters. In line with the governments new agenda on looking after the nations health, culinary skills will be included including 1001 things to do with a turnip and how to make a meaty casserole from fresh road-kill, will be taught by Jamie Oliver, sponsored by Sainsbury's.

Chantelle for new FE Minister

chantelle

VOTE VOTE VOTE...once Blair goes and Gordon Broon takes oer at the top, theres got to be a reshuffle. I'd like to see Chantelle brought in to education - like they brought that Lord Adonis (have you seen him - what a minger) in to give us all a lift.

God, FE is so shite these days. What ever happened to the days when you could have a laugh? Chantelle's great, no brain but er, thats not important much when you're at the top as Ruth Kelly will testify.

So come one everyone, lets get Chantelle in and move on!

The state of FE - skill centre-isation

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Saturday, 18. Feb, 2006 - 09:33:52 pm

More doom and gloom for us in Further Education is on the way according to our funding lords and masters, the LSC. Massive cuts are again planned as the priorities change yet again to focus on 16-19 year olds.

The adult learning side of FE is gradually dissappearing, to be replaced by a skills-centre type operation for colleges. Colleges are turning out as never before more grease-monkeys, brickies, sparks and clippies than ever before to meet public demand.

Have you noticed this in your own college ? Scrapping academic courses for adults and replacing these with NVQ 2 building? Aye its all part o Blairs agenda. Another feck-up from someone who will soon be out of a job soon. Mind you glum old Gordon looks about as jovial as a feckin stiff. Imagine a night oot wi him!

So Im about to chuck away my theory books and get out mi toolbag and go and show 20 hairdressers how to mend a fuse in a hairdryer. Nice,

Lots of love chums - have a good half term!
