Big Brother - Day 1

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Thursday, 31. May, 2007 - 09:08:19 am

big broth

What a motley crew they are.
Does the House represent a true cross-section of UK females?

I'm pretty sure that Matt Lucas has sneaked in there too.

11 women and a guy coming in on Friday. Should be fun.

The Apprentice tonight

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Wednesday, 30. May, 2007 - 02:32:09 pm

SIX candidates left and Sir Alan (he gets wider than Dellboy every week) Sugar MUST surely know by now who he is going to have cleaning the Amstrad toilets by this stage. I can just picture the lovely Katie Hopkins now dressed as Mrs Overall, headscarf on, with a dangling fag in her gob, long mop and bucket slopping out the staff bogs. Gorgeous thought is it not.

Katie's, ever longing looks over those droopy eyebrows each week at Sir Alan across the Amstrad board room table. How long will it go on?

Amstrad what a load of old tat they sell. (Although last week Sugar called it "tut", not tat. Here's some of the old tat that Sir Alan flogs at the moment, mainly to suckers overseas as no one here is daft enough to buy these.

e3_producthk218pcw-8256DTE288

Good stuff isn't it. Not. Has anyone out there in blogland EVER bought any of these? The winner of the Apprentice gets their very own market stall in Hackney Wick trying to sell 30,000 of these from the Amstrad warehouse. Good apprentice training isn't it? make a woman of you Katie.

How to save money

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Tuesday, 29. May, 2007 - 02:30:31 pm

944060_35e3a7f080_s

"Just think if all the colleges bought all their paper clips from one supplier," says Mark Hayson, Chief pen pusher and bean counter of the Leeching Skills Council.

The LSC are out to grab another £75 million from FE colleges in a bid to save money in the sector today's Guardian foretells.
Prepare to have pencils cut in half, re-cyled blu-tak and all the other scams the LSC can think up in a bid to take more cash away from colleges and put into the private training sector.

It sucks.

Is summer over?

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Tuesday, 29. May, 2007 - 08:28:17 am

6830_icicles

Im in work here and its blinkin freezing.
No heating on because government regulations say that summer has officially started and the boiler is automatically shut off until September.
Baaaahhh. Grumble, mutter, expletive. I bet that fecker Alan Johnson's warm...and the LSC leeches.
Global warming - not here it's not.

I'm not happy. Neither will the students be in half an hour. Exams all day - in the freezing cold.

Better get the sick bay ready. Bucket of sawdust, mop and disinfectant. Theres always a couple of kids who cough-up their breakfasts at this time of year.

The Apprentice last night

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Thursday, 24. May, 2007 - 07:44:00 am

trebig_KatieHopkinsbig_KristinaGrimes

We are getting down to the last few now. Still a few deadlegs who need to go. With Nadine dropping out last night we are down to the final six. Im pretty sure that Sir Alan now knows who he wants. Ill guess the final three

Tre, Christina and Katy. he'll probably pick one of the women and Ive changed my mind about katy winning it. I think now Christina will win it as she hasn't wound Sugar up like the others.

Good programme last night wasnt it. Beat watching more overpaid footballers knocking a ball around.

Must confess Ive not been blogging for a few days. rather tied up with work and family matters as its exam season in FE

Gordon Brown - an appeal

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Friday, 18. May, 2007 - 09:04:02 am

Congratulations Gordon on becoming Prime Minister. As you said you were passionate about Education in your acceptance speech yesterday, and we, in Further Education, are too. We hope that you will look fairly upon the FE sector when it comes to the way staff are treated, as in the past 15 years, this has not been the case.

Further education has seen dramatic change over the past 15 years since incorporation and we have delivered all the changes and challenges that were put before us.
The Government have not kept their side of the bargain however. They have renaged on promises to equate pay with sixth forms and bring back national pay bargaining instead of allowing some Principals to get away with awarding staff nothing for years.

The pay and conditions in FE have worsened in recent years since the LSC took over, robbing much needed money in the FE sector. FE has declined and is now a second-class service where the 50% deemed not bright enough to go to University end up. The place where schools send the "disaffected" so schools can concentrate on meeting their targets for GCSE results. That is an appalling way to treat FE staff and students. We want some equality Gordon and we want it now please.

Disband the LSC and make FE Colleges accountble to the Local Authorities, not some highly-paid Quango like the LSC who deliver nothing. Close this shambles of an organisation and distribute the money saved to colleges so they can employ staff on permanent contracts instead of treating teachers as casual labour.

FE has delivered Gordon. It's time now for the Government to show us some respect by treating us as equals with teachers in schools, sixth forms and universities.

Scientology - an alleged cult

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Thursday, 17. May, 2007 - 11:28:59 am

In a research poll published by BBD today its been found that some 430 million Americans believe in aliens, have themselves been the subject of an alien abduction, believe that 9/11 was a government plot, carry several automatic weapons for protection, are clinically obsese, spell colour - color, and are active members of the Church of Scientology (an alleged cult).

Man what a combo. And they're the clever ones.

In another poll (must we Billy....Ed) it's been found that the discoverer of Scientology (an alleged cult), Ron L Hubbard was in fact a science-fiction author and not an author of religious books. The innaccuracy comes from the fact that Borders booksellers in the States in 1965 incorrectly shelved Hubbards work in the Religion section rather than the Sci-Fi section. As sales rocketed, Borders decided against moving Hubbards books to their proper home and so all his novels became adopted as a new religion when frightened americans were out shopping for a new thing to believe in.

I'm still trying to get my head around the background to Scientology; spaceships, Thetans, volcanoes and atomic bombs 73 million years ago.

The Scientology cult are after me

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Tuesday, 15. May, 2007 - 04:17:57 pm

Run, run for your lives.

I am sure I was followed at lunchtime. I was in Primark rummaging - as usual when a small guy with floppy hair and sunglasses (so not to wear in Motherwell on a pissing down day) kept popping up from behind clothes racks and taking pictures of me with his mobile phone.
cruise-winter

I left the store and the same guy complete with film crew followed me all the way back to the college. The security guy stopped them coming into the college.
ufo
He then took off in a flying saucer and was last seen somewhere near Andromeda (thats a night club in Leith Billy - same one ...Ed?)
Not quite but close enough.

Is Scientology a Cult?

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Tuesday, 15. May, 2007 - 08:07:33 am

Cult or not a cult. The BBCs Panorama shed more light on the shady goings on at Clearwater USA of the (alleged) cult the Church of Scientology.
Scientologists don't seem to like the word 'cult', I suppose its a bit like calling Nazis fascists or not mentioning the M word to an actor in "the Scottish play."
Any BBD readers out there who want to make a comment on whether Scientology is a cult or not a cult, or are its members just a bunch of plain old silly cults.

11not_scared_of_you15

Is all-action hero Tom Cruise being duped out of his hard earned money by the (alleged) cult of the Church of Scientology? (Sure to be a film in it)

This Ron L Hubbard guy certainly started something before popping his clogs. Thetans, spaceships, aliens all are here according to the Dianetics gospel.
Now you know me. I love Sci-Fi. Was brought up on it but I've never heard anything as far out as some of Hubbards theories. Where's the proof that aliens landed here and exploded atomic bombs in volcanoes 73 million years ago? Come on Ron. Come on Tom. Come on John, Are you really serious about all this?

Scientology - cult or no cult, you be the judge and send in your views.

Colour co-ordinated costumes - a red one, a blue one a green one and a yellow one

the dance steps and the hand jive

tearing off the skirts

ahhh those were the days...

Good luck to scooch on Saturday - lets hope they to better than jemini!

Alex Salmond in custard

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Thursday, 10. May, 2007 - 08:14:07 am

Alex Salmond is causing quite a rumpus up here in scotland since winning the election by 1 seat over Labour. He has invested himself as 1st Minister and has been seen recently bathing in assess milk and floating in a pool of custard.

2709snpb

I don't like this guy at all. He's the obnoxious height-conscouis little short-kid in the schoolyard who goes around provoking others to fight him, before saying his dad's bigger than your dad. He will stop at nothing to carve up the UK. Well a lot of us Scots don't want that.

He may have won favour in a 'lets all have a protest cos were pissed off' mid-term election, but come 2009, Scots will see him for what he really is and he will be out on his SNP arse and back serving burger and fries.

Blair - A Nation Mourns

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Thursday, 10. May, 2007 - 07:56:06 am

blairbrown1

Well the day has finally arrived and I guess it will be teary goodbyes from TB on the telly as he signs off after 10 years as PM. He would have got longer apart from the Iraq War and hitching his wagon to Bushes. Big Mistake that.

He has given us a stronger economy, a better health service and pumped millions into schools.

For me though he has done nothing at all for the Further Education sector. In fact its gone into reverse in the past ten years. We were better off under the Conservatives.

944060_35e3a7f080_sFE has declined rapidly since the blood-sucking LSC took over in 2001, draining the sector of much-needed resources. Blair leaves the biggest gap between FE teachers and teachers in Schools, 6th Forms, and Universioties who have all seen their lot improve in the past ten years.

In FE we have seen the skills-centerisation of what was an excellent place to work a decade ago. Now its all target this, quality indicators and value-added and sod the students they come second.

No I'm not going to be getting the tissues out today. Bye Tony and thanks for nothing.

Its EuroVision week!

by billyblogginsdonkey @ Tuesday, 08. May, 2007 - 08:04:37 am

Book your seats, cancel all your appointments or set the video, as saturday is EuroVision night, the biggest politico-socio-entertainment show in the world. Yes, its time again to watch us make complete and utter fools of ourselves, along with the rest of them singing the daftest songs you ever heard and wearing the silliest costumes.

Marks are awarded for being the most camp
The worst lyrics
The most meaningless songline i.e., dee, dee, dum, dum, ba ba etc etc...(Well done Billy, youre a poet...Ed)

Just think of all the times we had a good song that never did anything.

Jemini....nil points just after we invaded another foreign country though - hardly surprising was it.

I particularly thought these guys should have won from 1983 - Sweet Dreams. Whatever happened to these guys?
Dig those colour co-ordinations. And listen to the lyrics - after we had just seen off the Argies. Battle, war, never giving up...Lyrics by M Thatcher...
